Job Description

Employ Africa is looking for an SEO / Digital Marketer to join their busy team.


  • Objectives
  • Increase organic traffic, search ranking, and optimise search visibility.
  • Increase back links to affiliate sites.
  • Increase CTR and reduce bounce rate.
  • Ensure plagiarism does not occur across different company web sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for website development.

  • Create website layout using WordPress interface.
  • Create front end design and develop website content.
  • Assess and monitor responsiveness on all mediums including mobile and optimise content to maximise speed.
  • Install and check security measures on the site.

Responsible for developing and implementing effective search engine optimisation strategies.

  • Plan, develop and implement an SEO strategy to maximise organic search and ROI.
  • Identify buyer persona to better target identified audiences.
  • Collaborate with web developers and marketing team to understand reach.
  • Identify and set key SEO KPI’s.

Responsible for monitoring performance and ongoing SEO optimisation.

  • Manage website analytics platforms (google analytics) and ensure proper usage.
  • Monitor and track reporting on traffic, ranking, and conversions.
  • Monitor redirects, click rate, bounce rate, and other KPI’s.
  • Identify problems and deficiencies and implement solutions.
  • Make improvements to processes and optimise productivity.
  • Keep abreast of latest SEO and digital marketing changes, trends, and best practice.

Responsible for creating and editing content to include popular keywords.

  • Regularly perform thorough keyword research and identify content gaps to target.
  • Create short content blurbs for landing pages as needed.
  • Gauge success of content using analytical tools.

  • Implement a social media marketing plan.
  • Create a social media strategy that resonates with the corporate branding.
  • Research social media trends and ensure alignment with these trends.
  • Set targets for shares, likes, and comments and measure campaign performance.

Responsible for creating and managing social media campaigns.

  • Come up with fresh content ideas and create relevant content.
  • Initiate, schedule and manage social media campaigns.
  • Interact with followers, customers, and stakeholders through social media platforms.
  • Work within the marketing budget and report on progress made.

Responsible for building a social media presence by maintaining a solid online presence.

  • Build brand awareness by engaging relevant influencers.
  • Manage online community to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement.
  • Respond to comments on all accounts.

Responsible for creating and driving publication and email campaigns.

  • Identify publication and email marketing campaign and content ideas.
  • Initiate, schedule and manage marketing campaigns.
  • Build and manage publisher relationships to optimise free exposure and reach.
  • Work within the marketing budget and report on progress made.

Essential Knowledge

MS Suite, WordPress, CSS, photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Suite, Premier Pro, Google Ad Words SEO tool kit knowledge, Bing Ad Words, Google and Bing Analytics, SEM Rush or similar
