Role Summary

As a Sales Researcher & Administrator, your primary responsibility will be to gather, analyse, and provide actionable insights into market trends, industries, and companies in growth, and competitive landscapes. Your research efforts will play a crucial role in shaping the sales strategies in Chapter 2 and by diving deep into market data, you will help the sales team identify opportunities, refine targeting, and enhance customer engagement. Your role will require a natural interest in finding new opportunities, analytical skills, commercial acumen, and tenacity & drive in the sales environment.

Responsibilities

Market analysis: Conduct thorough research to identify emerging market trends, evolving industries and information on the competitive landscape. Monitor shifts in customer preferences and buying behaviors to inform strategic decision-making.

Competitor profiling: Research competitors’ products, pricing strategies, sales tactics, and market positioning. Provide insights on competitive advantages and weaknesses to guide the development of unique selling propositions. Support with outreach campaigns for our competitor’s client base.

Customer insights: Gather and interpret data on customer demographics, needs, pain points, and purchasing patterns. Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to align messaging and value propositions with customer expectations.

Data collection & input: Collect relevant data from various sources, including event delegates, databases, LinkedIn / social media, and customer surveys. Ensure data is input accurately to ensure the reliability of outreach.

Sales strategy support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide actionable insights that drive effective sales strategies. Assist in the development of sales forecasts, performance metrics, and revenue projections.

Sales outreach: Support the sales team with outreach for targeted email & marketing campaigns, event invites and other outbound activity delivered by Chapter 2.

Continuous learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in sales and market research. Leverage new tools and methodologies to enhance research efficiency and effectiveness.

Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with marketing & product development to align strategies and ensure consistent messaging across all departments.

Skills and Experience needed

  • Curiosity: A natural curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches will drive your research efforts and lead to valuable insights.
  • Research methodology: A solid understanding of research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
  • Communication skills: Clear and effective communication is essential for presenting research findings and ROI on outreach.
  • Attention to detail: Accurate data collection and inputting is essential to ensure successful outreach.
  • Time management: Ability to juggle multiple research projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain the quality of work.
  • Technical proficiency: Proficiency in using data analysis tools, spreadsheet software (like Excel), and experience working with a CRM.
  • Familiarity with sales strategies, customer journey mapping, and product development processes
