RE: Rubber lining sales & support assistant

Role Purpose:

Responsible for assisting the sales team in obtaining and keeping customers by performing administrative and clerical tasks. Their main duties include responding to customer complaints and questions, making sure orders are processed on time and scheduling sales meetings and appointments.

Overview:

TRUCO (Transvaal Rubber Company) has been the leading South African manufacturer and supplier of mining and industrial rubber products for over a hundred years. Main products include rubber sheeting, mining and industrial hose, conveyor belting and fender systems;

TRUCO runs the largest Hand Built hose factory on the continent and supplies the majority of mines and industry with best in class rubber pulp and slurry hose;

TRUCO is looking for a self-motivated, “hands-on”, highly energetic individual, service orientated, active team player with the exception of performing independently.

Specific responsibilities(not limited to):

Key KPI’s are the following, but are not limited to these alone:

• Growing professional relationships with various internal and external stakeholders;

• Quoting on all rubber lining enquiries;

• Taking calls from customers and recommending appropriate products;

• Relationship building with buyers and customers;

• Ensuring accuracy and correct execution on quotations and delivery of products;

• Completing various reports;

• Completing administration requirements and paperwork;

• Must be able to read drawings and calculate surface areas of pipes, tanks etc.

Skills and Attributes(must possess):

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Teamwork skills;

• Attention to detail;

• Excellent time management skills

• Good work ethic, honest, dependable;

• Ability to learn and adapt on the job;

• Good arithmetic skills – will perform calculations in excel;

• Traveling local & international will be required from time to time;

Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric/N3;

• Computer Literate (Outlook; Excel, Word, etc);

• A technical qualification would be an advantage;

• Previous expeditor/sales experience;

Work environment:

• Chamdor, Krugersdorp operations;

• Interaction with all levels of personnel;
