Job Description

The role
The purpose of this role is to ensure optimal output from Sandvik Product by enhancing in facilitation, knowledge and skill transfer to operators. Product capability will be one of the drivers by operational undertaking which will be in line with a specific requirement. Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling project and non-project teams in drive results will be the focus in this position. Comprehensive feedback and reporting to all the stakeholders with the aim to improve our offering and be more competitive in the market will be important. This service is rendered to Sandvik clients (internal & external)
Key performance areas

  • Collaboration of Operator Academy and Business Development to help our customers realize their goals by optimizing in training deliverables within defined guidelines.
  • To undertake effective operator training and coaching to ensure optimal machine performance and output.
  • Delivery on detailed Projects/Trails progress report with recommendations.
  • Analyzing operational process with relation to Sandvik mechanized equipment.
  • Identifying operator skill gaps and implementing continuous improvement methods.
  • Addressing Business Development needs in relation to equipment operation.
  • Continuous communication with Product Support Managers and addressing changes related to training material and operator trainer knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure that safety standards are priority and a safe culture is promoted in all activities.
  • Ensure trained operators are capable to work effectively and safe without supervision in the work place.

Your profile

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent Qualification
  • MQA Assessor registration
  • Moderator Certificate
  • Train The Trainer’s Certificate
  • Project management qualification
  • MQA Registered Operator Trainer
  • Management qualification
  • Basic computer literacy
  • English language proficiency
  • Code 08 Licence and own transport
  • SME in Sandvik machines.
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Principled in Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling.
  • OD-ETDP qualification essential
  • Trade test or equivalent Engineering related qualifications
  • Blasting Certificate or equivalent Mining related qualifications

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of Operator Training experience with the following as advantageous:
  • Underground and Surface mining (exposed to Sandvik product)
  • Soft rock continuous miner’s, Bolters, Mercury, and LS machines
  • Hard Rock Load and Haul, Trucks, Drills (Bolters & Drill Rigs including Long Hole) & MPV
  • Continuous Miner’s experience
  • Metalliferous/Coal mining environment
