Job Description

Main Duties

  • Opening and closing of the business -key holder.
  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Overseeing daily business operations.
  • Evaluating performance and productivity of employees.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
  • Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
  • Stock control.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Perform quality controls.
  • Recruit, train and supervise /manage staff.
  • Find ways to increase quality of customer service.
  • Monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
  • Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
  • Manage fleet vehicles including maintenance, repair, inspection.
  • Organise warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
  • Respond to any issues or complaints.
  • Attend tender briefings.
  • Attend client meetings regarding operations as and when required.

Requirements And Skills

  • Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role.
  • Vehicle and truck maintenance knowledge (checking oil, brake fluid, filling diesel etc. )
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Has to be able to go into informal settlements.
  • Needs to know upfront that client work with human waste.
