Over the last few years, our client’s focus has been on protecting, expanding and improving their existing retail, commercial and industrial portfolio. They have done this through large scale acquisitions, disposing of underperforming assets, as well as developing and managing their current buildings, they have grown their portfolio to now be valued at over R50 Billion across the entirety of South Africa.

A listed REIT, they require a seasoned Centre Manager to take charge and join their team by overseeing one of their popular, high-end retail centres in Midrand. This centre spans close to 30,00sqm and provides the convenience between large regional malls, and everything the customer requires at one place. With near to 100 stores, you will be responsible to maintain and build relationships with tenants and customers of the centre. You will also be required to formalize a strategic plan for the centre and make recommendations to achieve maximum potential. On a monthly basis, you will have to analyse budget and performance of the centre against competitors and utilise market research to improve the marketing strategy with the help of the Marketing Manager. For business operations and alignment with the group strategy, you must ensure that property and lease administration is well adhered to and up to date. In addition to a Marketing Manager, you will also have the support of a Facilities Manager, Receptionist and on-site Handyman.

To be successful in this job, your experience, as listed on your CV, should show your background in property administration, commercial/property law, property accounting, operations and facilities management and knowledge of retail property fundamentals. Your overall Property career will exceed 8 years where you have gained experience in financials, leasing, property management and facilities management for a retail centre or a retail portfolio.
